Ken is a general surgeon with subspecialty training in colorectal surgery. He initially completed his medical degree at The University of Melbourne with First Class Honours. He then completed his residency and specialist training in general surgery through Alfred Health in Melbourne, and then completed further subspecialty training in Sydney and Melbourne through the CSSANZ in colorectal surgery. During this time, he was also the ASCRS International Colorectal Fellowship recipient and spent time in New York and Cleveland in the USA.
His main interests and areas are in minimally invasive surgery, endoscopy including complex colonoscopy and abdominal wall reconstruction (complex hernia). He is happy to discuss any general surgical issue be it an emergency or elective surgical problem. He works at Alfred Health in the public hospital system operating at Sandringham hospital and can offer private care at Holmesglen Private Hospital. He understands the nature of patient needs in rural settings and often provides locum relief in rural hospitals to allow local specialists to get a bit of a break!
He has taken over the practice of Dr Anton Iseli, an Upper Gastrointestinal - Hepatopancreatobiliary, and Colorectal Surgeon, who has made the decision to retire June 2022 after more than 50 years. Dr Kenneth and the team at Telecare have been able to provide his patients with continued quality, compassionate care.
