Dr Lafontaine is an endocrinologist who completed her training in Melbourne at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Eastern Health. She is passionate about managing all aspects of clinical endocrinology, with particular interests in thyroid disorders, metabolic bone disorders, diabetes, obesity and endocrine disorders after cancer treatment.

She has been involved in research in diabetes, pituitary, parathyroid and thyroid disease which she has presented at both national and international conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals. She is currently further advancing her research interests by completing a PhD investigating the epigenetics of thyroid function, Graves’ disease and Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, and the associations between thyroid function and cognition.
