Telecare launches Australia's first standalone e-script platform - RxPad

21 June 2023

In a revolutionary step towards making a change in the medical scene, Telecare has launched Australia’s first ever standalone platform for electronic prescriptions, known as https://www.rxpad.com.au/. It is built by clinicians for clinicians to replace the conventional methods of paper prescriptions. This cutting-edge solution is set to reshape the way healthcare can be delivered to patients, enhancing patient-experience and empowering doctors, making consultations a pleasant experience for all.

With this tool, doctors no longer have to write up and send out paper prescriptions by snail mails to their patients, cutting down on wait times in obtaining medications from pharmacies. RxPad will also replace the process of writing up, signing off and posting out paper prescriptions by streamlining it as a digital work flow, therefore allowing doctors to have a better focus on patient care.

RxPad is fully compliant with the Australian Digital Health Agency guidelines, and is exceptionally secure. The drug data is integrated with MIMS, Australia’s most trusted and comprehensive drug reference system, with more than 21,000 healthcare professional users. The integration ensures that doctors have the latest drug information, minimising errors and ensuring accuracy in prescriptions.

RxPad is a cost-efficient and standalone solution that operates on a cloud-based, mobile-friendly platform. It allows doctors to prescribe without having to log into any practice management software. This makes it easier for doctors to access, view, edit and cancel patients’ prescriptions. This is the first of its kind in the Australian market.

According to Telecare's Chief Medical Officer, Dr Chris Sia: "For a long time now, we have seen a demand in the market for a standalone e-script platform from our clinicians and other specialists alike. We have thus decided to use our distinctive position as Australia's leading virtual specialist clinic to create RxPad as a solution."

The launch of this mobile-friendly electronic prescription platform is also in line with Telecare’s goal of bringing quality healthcare closer and faster to patients.

As RxPad has just been launched, Telecare is giving the early access cohort a free 30-day trial. Simply hop onto the RxPad website to learn more about the platform, and sign up to access all the features. Alternatively, new users can email support@rxpad.com.au for assistance in setting up their accounts.
