Independent medical examination

Medical examination is required as part of your compensation claim
When pursuing a DVA claim, DVA will require a subsequent medical assessment to evaluate the severity and impact of a patient’s health condition. Below is a simplified guide on this process

DVA Request for Report
Following the submission of a claim to DVA, Telecare will receive a request from DVA for an Independent Medical Examination. Once this is received we will reach out to veterans to organise a consultation.

Comprehensive Independent Medical Examination
During this appointment, a Telecare medical specialist will conduct an examination in relation to a set of criteria provided by DVA. Following the consultation, our specialists will produce a report on a veteran’s health condition and submit it to DVA for assessment.
Telecare specialists have experience writing reports that are compliant with DVA’s criteria, and on average can produce these reports in 5 days.

Following this process, DVA will make a final decision in relation to your claim.
